* 12 large prunes (Agen or mi-cuit plums if you can get them)
* 3 tbsp brandy or dark rum
* 115g marzipan
* 100g 70% cocoa solids dark choc finely chopped
* tray lined with parchment/greaseproof paper

Ease open prunes and put them in a layer in a shallow dish. Spoon the booze liberally all over them. Leave overnight or a few hours at the least.

Put choccie on to melt really slowly. Then let cool until thickened and almost setting again.

Whilst choc is cooling, divide marzipan into 12 equal pieces and roll each piece into a little oval shape. Stuff the prunes, moulding the fruit round the marzipan. Put them on your lined tray.

Spoon choc over each prune using a teaspoon. Don’t worry if it is a bit messy… it looks more artistic and delicious.

Leave them in a cool place until set. EAT.

Eat within 5 days. Keep somewhere cool, if possible not the fridge, but if you haven’t anywhere else that will do.
