* 4oz porridge oats
* 1tsp mixed spice or spice of your choice
* 2oz light muscovado sugar
* 2oz butter

Mix the oats, spice and sugar. Melt the butter in a frying pan and fry the oat mixture for 5 minutes, stirring all the time, until lightly toasted and crisp (they get crispier as they cool). Tip into a bowl and leave to cool.
